Level three safeguarding training is aimed at managers or designated safeguarding leads who are responsible for dealing with safeguarding concerns. It builds on level one and level two training by providing more detailed and advanced knowledge.

Course Content
Introduction
Level Three safeguarding training is usually recommended for an individual who has a managerial role in any safeguarding situation. They are usually the first point of contact for when other staff have safeguarding concerns. This individual may be the Designated Safeguarding Officer or Lead. Other individuals who may require this would be medical/nursing staff who work directly with children/young people or managers, teachers, and sports coaches. Level One and Level Two will be built on with an extended amount of knowledge.
What does the training include?
- Types of abuse and recognising abuse.
- A greater look at domestic abuse.
- An introduction to non-accidental injury (NAI), with a focus on under ones.
- Exploitation
- Think Family with a focus on the trio of vulnerabilities.
- An introduction to 16 and 17 yr olds and mental capacity.
- An understanding of legislation and Safeguarding Acts.
- Your professional responsibilities: reporting, documenting, contributing.
- Serious Case Reviews and learning from these.
- The referral and assessment processes: your local authorities.
- Children’s Services and the different thresholds.
- Considering court and how to give evidence.
- Disclosures and barriers.
- Concerns about someone in a professional capacity.
Where is the training?
This can be done on MS teams or face-to-face for groups at request – please contact me to discuss.
How long is the training?
3.5 hours with a 15-20 minute break. If you can’t see a date or time that works, please get in touch.
Is this course CPD Certified?
Yes and you will get a certificate.
