Course Content
Introduction
“Think Family” is an agenda whereby we consider the whole family within the world of Children’s Safeguarding and the impact of health/social needs on adults and how this can impact the children/young people they are responsible for. The Think Family Agenda is often linked to the “toxic trio” – substance/alcohol misuse, domestic abuse and mental health.
ACE’s are events that occur in a child or young persons life before the age of 18, such as violence, abuse or parental mental health/substance misuse. ACE’s can cause long-term health and social problems into adulthood, but with early recognition and appropriate support they can be prevented.
